Synopsis: In this book a bus does talk, and on her way to school a girl named Marcie learns why Rosa Parks is the mother of the Civil Rights movement. At the end of Marcie's magical ride, she meets Rosa Parks herself at a birthday party with several distinguished guests. Wait until she tells her class about this!

Craft ideas:
•  Draw a picture of Mrs. Parks's head. What was she thinking about when she was on the bus? Draw pictures inside to show.
•  Draw and cut out an outline of a bus. Inside, draw pictures to answer these questions: What would you do if you were told you couldn't do something? Do you think certain things about people based on how they look? Has something like this ever happened to you?, etc.
