Synopsis: A witch plants a pumpkin seed but when the pumpkin grows too big, a series of large, creepy creatures come to move it. A bat finally uses cooperation to solve the problem. Delightful, shivery illustrations by S.D. Schindler. A chain story with rhyming, repetitive language that is ideal for acting out, for discussing cooperation and planting seeds, and for reading aloud on Halloween.

Craft ideas:
•  What's another way they could have gotten the pumpkin to the front door? Draw.
•  Make big witch's hats and act out the story.

*Note: These craft ideas are just suggestions. You can use them, but you don't have to use them. You can expand upon them, or add your own twist. Remember, though, that the focus of your time should not be on the development and execution of a craft; the focus should be on the read-aloud and the enjoyment of the book!
