We just had a few people cancel their RSVPs for our September 14th "Arts & Creativity" reading clubs.
If you can join us that morning, please head over to our website today for those spots or keep checking over the next week for any newly-opened spots! :^)

Hello experienced volunteers! We're still looking for Training Coordinators, Check-In Helpers, Grade Level Coordinators, & Site Operations Helpers for these next reading clubs.
Sounds exciting, doesn't it? You can read about those roles here and email info@readingtokids.org if you want to help in any, even if your school is full!
Or, if you want to help in other ways (Curriculum, Marketing, etc.), and have volunteered with us three or more times,

Are you free this afternoon or next week for an hour or two? Would you like to help us promote Reading to Kids at our partner schools as a Reading to Kids Ambassador? Yes?! YAY!
Here is where we need you over the next 8 days:

Back-to-School events this afternoon at Esperanza or Politi

Classroom Walk-Throughs and/or passing out flyers next week at any of our schools
We'll supply everything you need, including what to say at the Back-to-School Nights!
These events set the course for the rest of the year and are
a wonderful way to interact with the
kids, parents, and teachers.

Did you know you can support Reading to Kids just
by shopping at the grocery store or using your credit card?

Ralphs both have programs that are NO COST ways
for you to donate to Reading to Kids.
All
you have to do is
call Ralphs or go online and register your grocery
cards. When you use those cards at a participating
store or service provider, the store will donate a
percentage of your purchases to Reading to Kids!

FOR THE 2025 LA MARATHON,
13.1 MILE CHARITY CHALLENGE,
OR LA 5K!

Team Reading to Kids in the 2025 Los
Angeles Marathon or 13.1 Mile Charity Challenge on Sunday,
March 16th!
This is our 11th time running the marathon, and we're looking for five Charity Challenge runners (the last 13.1 miles of the course) and more full marathon runners to join us in one of the best marathons in the country.
If either of those distances is too daunting, you can join us in the LA 5K (that's just 3.1 miles) near Dodger Stadium the day before the marathon on Saturday, March 15, 2024.

October means magic at Reading to Kids, and we are looking for six more magicians to perform at our October 12th "Halloween, Magic, & Monsters" reading clubs!

Our next Legendary Bingo fundraiser at
Hamburger Mary's in West Hollywood will be on October 23rd! Please help us gather prizes for auctions and bingo winners that night!
To help you get started, here is information about Reading to Kids to share with potential donors, as well as a donation form for them to complete.
We especially enjoy awarding gift certificates,
amusement park and theater tickets, gift bags, and
autographed items! Anything unique is great, too!
If you work at or have a connection with products or services to offer, please help us by asking for a donation to our events.
