June 13, 2024

Dear Friends of Reading to Kids,

Even though their summer break started Tuesday, this month 309 kids, 185 volunteers, 40 parents, and 21 teachers & staff helped to make our June 8th reading clubs a success - our largest June since 2019!

We wish our graduating 5th graders all the best as they now head off to middle school, though some may still join us for our summer reading clubs.

Kindergartners had a great time hearing Jasper & Ollie Build a Fort, then creating their own forts out of popsicle sticks!

Last Saturday was our last scheduled reading club at Los Angeles Elementary.

After 17 years of reading clubs and $95,000 in books donated to the L.A. Elem. kids, teachers, parents, and their school library, we are looking to expand to another nearby school. We hope to announce that school in the coming months!

STEP INTO A
BIGGER VOLUNTEER ROLE NEXT MONTH

Site Coordinators at Charles White Elementary

We're always looking for experienced volunteers to take on more leadership with us by helping train new and returning volunteers, being a GLC, checking in volunteers, or especially being a second or third Site Coordinator at any of our schools.

Summer is a great time to ease into any of those roles. If you can help in any of them, please e-mail us at info@readingtokids.org to help create wonderful reading clubs!
