Dear Friends of Reading to Kids,
Our April 13th "The Wonders of Science & Technology" reading clubs are this Saturday, and we will probably need a few more volunteer readers.
Please
click here to see if we have openings today or tomorrow until 3pm, since we always have a few cancelations the days before each reading club.

have signed up and can't make it after all,
please cancel your RSVP online immediately to make room for another volunteer.)
5 MORE OPERATIONS VOLUNTEERS
NEEDED THIS SATURDAY
Have you volunteered with us a few times recently? Then Then this Saturday would be a great time to step into any of our vital Operations roles - all training very pleasantly provided!

- GLC at Esperanza (4th) or MacArthur Park (5th)
- Training Coordinator at Los Angeles
- Check-in Helper at Los Angeles or Magnolia
- Site Operations Helper at 8am at any school (your Site Coordinators need your help!)

READING TO KIDS AMBASSADORS
WANTED TOMORROW!
Tomorrow for an hour or two between 7:30am and 2:30pm, we need your
help conducting quick classroom walk-throughs to encourage kids to come to
our April 13th reading clubs.
We are especially looking for volunteers who can pass out flyers to parents when school lets out at around 2:15pm tomorrow.
This can be a lot of fun and we'll provide everything you need. Please reply to

(310) 479-7455 if you can be an Ambassador for an hour or two!

25TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
& CASINO NIGHT ON MAY 11TH!
Reading to Kids turns 25 years old at our May 11th reading clubs, and tickets are available for our celebration event that evening!

Our party is French Quarter / Mardi Gras / New Orleans themed as we enjoy casino table games at the beautiful
Historic Woman's Club in Santa Monica!
We'll have New Orleans-style food, raffle prizes and packages to win, a live DJ, a 360° camera photo booth, and casino table games to play for fun and raffle tickets! Each ticket includes $100 in gaming chips!
Enjoy Blackjack, Roulette, Craps, and Poker, delicious food & drinks, and an opportunity to socialize with your fellow Reading to Kids volunteer and supporters!
Laissez les bons temps rouler!
Tickets are $40 online before 2pm on 5/11/24, $45 at the door while tickets last. ****Guests must be 18 and over.****

If $40 is a little pricey or you just like to help, we also need another 12 volunteers for the following roles:
Catering volunteer helpers
Set-up assistants
Bartending volunteer helpers
Attendee Check-in Helpers
Raffle Tickets Managers
Take-down assistants

RAFFLE ITEMS & BINGO PRIZES
Our next fundraising events will be on May 11th and on October 23rd, so we need your help gathering more prizes for raffles, silent auctions, and bingo winners!
To help you get started, here is information about Reading to Kids to share with potential donors, as well as a donation form for them to complete.
We especially enjoy awarding gift certificates,
amusement park and theater tickets, gift bags, and
autographed items! Anything unique is great, too!
If you work at or have a connection with products or services to offer, please help us by asking for a donation to our events.
You may have gift cards you haven't used which would make excellent prizes if you'd like to donate them to us! E-mail us at info@readingtokids.org to arrange mailing them to us!
