Dear Friends of Reading to Kids,
Last Saturday 241 kids, 87 volunteers, and 30 teachers &
staff
helped to make our April 10th reading clubs a success!
At MacArthur Park Elementary we had 30 Kindergarteners, 1st, and 2nd graders in the same Zoom reading club session!
Click on the below images to see 4th grade, 1st grade, and Kindergarten craft samples from these reading clubs!

10 MORE MILESTONE READERS!
Virtual reading clubs count towards our milestones just as much as our face-to-face reading clubs!
We honored these ten volunteers by sharing their milestone certificates at their schools' Site Coordinator debrief sessions after the clubs!
• Alexa Leyvas, Maggie Park (mostly as a Site Coordinator), Jennifer Beitzel, Amanda Roth, & Stephanie Ruiz (10 reading clubs each)
• Elizabeth Gibbs & James Jovanovich (20 reading clubs)
Pictured below are the certificates for our four largest milestones this month:
• Patricia Briggs (30 reading clubs, and you can see her in one of the crafts photos above)
• Tena Adam (50 reading clubs)
• Tawnni Smith (80 reading clubs, mostly as a Site Coordinator!)

VIRTUAL LEGENDARY BINGO FRI. APRIL 30TH AT 7:30 PM:
BUY YOUR TICKETS NOW!
It's back! On Friday, April 30th, join Reading to Kids
for
Virtual Legendary Bingo on Zoom!
Click their link above to see a video on their website of how it works. Just like our past bingo events at Hamburger Mary's, virtual drag queen bingo is "R" rated and seats are limited!
Tickets to play four games of virtual bingo are just $25, with only 60 tickets available - so
click this link to buy your ticket today!
We'll also have auction items to bid on, and all proceeds benefit Reading to Kids. To help recruit players, please also visit our April 30th Bingo event on Facebook and invite your friends!
HELP FIND MORE BINGO PRIZES!
You can also help us gather more prizes for the bingo winners! Since this is virtual bingo we are looking for items we can mail or send via email, such as $25 or $50 gift cards.
We also enjoy awarding gift certificates, gift bags, and autographed items! Anything unique is great, too!
To help you get started, here is information about Reading to Kids you can share with potential donors (such as where you work or shop), as well as a donation form for them to download and fill out.
If you work at or have a connection with products or
services to offer, please help us by asking for a donation
to our events.

MAY 8TH READING CLUBS NEARLY CONFIRMED
We are eager for next month's virtual reading clubs on May 8th, but first need to recruit enough teachers to be Zoom hosts for them. We'll remain Zoom-only for the foreseeable future.
Ideally, in about two weeks when we confirm enough
teacher hosts, we will then open
our RSVP system for those "Fantasy, Folklore, & Fairytales" reading clubs!
OPERATIONS VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
For our virtual reading clubs we need experienced volunteers to
help train volunteers to use Zoom or be a second or third virtual Site Coordinator
in our Zoom reading clubs for any of our schools.
Being a Site Coordinator guarantees you a (non-reading) spot at our next reading clubs, so please e-mail us at
info@readingtokids.org if you can help us create wonderful reading clubs!
