Reading to Kids News
April 2, 2020

Dear Friends of Reading to Kids,

We hope all is well with you and your families!

This past Monday the superintendent of the LAUSD announced the school campuses will remain closed until at least May 1st. By then we hope to hear more updates regarding the status of our physical monthly reading clubs convening back on our partner school campuses. We will continue to check https://achieve.lausd.net/latestnews for updates.

With the above in mind, our April reading clubs are still postponed on our partner school campuses.

We appreciate all of our volunteers who are eager to get back to our normal routine of our monthly reading clubs. In the meantime, we continue to reach out to our partner schools to ask how we can help them at this time.

GREAT NEW RESOURCES & VIDEOS
ON OUR HOMEPAGE!

With more visitors now looking for resources they can use at home, we have made our 20+ years of children's book resources more easily accessible directly from our homepage. Check out our latest homepage edits at www.readingtokids.org!

We also now feature two read-aloud videos on our homepage, one geared for K-2nd grade and the other for 3rd-5th grade.

HONORING TOMIE DEPAOLA

In honor of Tomie dePaola, beloved children's author and illustrator, we would like to share with you nine books he wrote or illustrated that we have read aloud at our reading clubs.

Click the image of each book on the right to view videos of those books being read aloud. You can also click this link to find our reading guides for each book.
