We hope you are enjoying good books and stories in your home castles!
This past Monday the superintendent of the LAUSD announced the schools will remain closed until May 1st. You can watch his video announcement and see any other updates since at https://achieve.lausd.net/latestnews, which we also monitor for updates.
With the above in mind, we are postponing indefinitely both our March and April reading clubs on our partner school campuses. Those themes and read-aloud books will be featured at our next two reading clubs after the schools re-open.
In the meantime, we are reaching out to our partner schools to ask how we can help them.
For the past 20 years our website has been more focused on recruiting and training volunteers to read aloud at our monthly reading clubs near downtown Los Angeles.
With more visitors now looking for resources they can use at home, we have made our 20+ years of children's book resources more easily accessible directly from our homepage. Check out our new homepage edits at www.readingtokids.org!
FEATURED ONLINE
READ-ALOUD VIDEOS
We also now feature two read-aloud videos on our homepage, one geared for K-2nd grade and the other for 3rd-5th grade.
Every day or two we will feature new videos at www.readingtokids.org, as well as post links to other great read-aloud sources for you to enjoy.
Explore them for tips on your own reading aloud skills and to share with a child you know!
