Dear Friends of Reading to Kids,
Despite a very rainy Saturday morning and a week of confusion about the start of the teachers strike, 511 kids, 339 volunteers,
78 parents, and 33 teachers & staff
helped to make our January 12th reading clubs a success!

Team Reading to Kids in the 2019 Skechers Performance Los
Angeles Marathon on Sunday,
March 24th!
We're looking for two more marathon runners to join us in one of the best marathons in the country.

They have until March 24th to reach their $20,000 fundraising goal! If you can donate a buck a mile
to your favorite runner, you'll help fuel them towards the finish line!
With every mile they train and every dollar they raise, these valiant souls help you inspire kids with a love of reading.
HAND OUT WATER DURING THE RACE!
Help represent Reading to Kids during the marathon by handing out water to the runners! You get a free LA Marathon t-shirt, too.
Our group will be at Water Station Mile 5 at Glendale Blvd., between Bellevue and Kent St. in Echo Park, on Sunday, March 24th from 5am - 11am.

MUSICIANS WANTED MARCH 9TH
Our March 9th reading clubs feature "Music & Celebration", and we are looking for musicians to perform at each of our eight partner schools. In the past we've had everything from Korean drum troupes to electric violin players to marching bands!

This May Reading to Kids turns 20 years old! Please mark your calendars for a comedy and silent auction event you won't want to miss!
We'll be celebrating the evening of the Saturday, May 11th reading clubs at the beautiful
Historic Woman's Club at 1210 Fourth Street, Santa Monica, CA 90401. We'll have more updates as we continue to plan the festivities!

We are especially looking for gift certificates,
