Dear Friends of Reading to Kids,

Our May 12th Fantasy, Folklore, & Fairytales clubs are the day after tomorrow and we still have 13 spots remaining.

Please join us by signing up! You can keep checking our website for openings today and tomorrow until 3pm.

Veteran volunteers help out with logistics

We also need experienced volunteers to help train volunteers, be a GLC, or be a second or third Site Coordinator at any of our schools.

Please e-mail us at info@readingtokids.org to help create wonderful reading clubs!

If you're signed up but can't join us, please click here to cancel before 3pm tomorrow so someone else may take your place.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED AT MAGNOLIA
NEXT SATURDAY, MAY 19TH

Magnolia Elementary is holding their Parent Conference the morning of Saturday, May 19th (the Saturday after the reading clubs), and they can use our help!

While their parents are participating in seminars and classes, you would help by interacting with the kids through outdoor activities, arts and crafts, reading to the kids, etc. - basically, all the fun stuff!

Prime time for helping that morning will be 8:30am - 11:30am, though they can use help from 8am - Noon. Breakfast and lunch are provided, too!

Click this link for directions to Magnolia Elementary, and email us at info@readingtokids.org if you can help that morning!

PAINTED STAIRWAY HIKE IN SILVER LAKE
SUNDAY, JUNE 3RD

Reading to Kids volunteers hiking in Hollywood

Join us for an urban exploration of the painted stairways of Silver Lake, a route that was highlighted recently in Los Angeles Magazine - http://www.lamag.com/mag-features/silver-lake-art-stairs/.

We will gather at 8:30 am on Sunday, June 3 at Sunset Triangle Plaza on Sunset between Edgecliff and Maltman. The hike will be led by Mark May.

The full route is 6.7 miles but there are several places en route where hikers can easily return to the starting place. We will allow plenty of time for photos on the way. We should be done by 12 noon. Parking is on Sunset (free on Sundays) and adjoining streets. You can RSVP on our Facebook event or simply show up that Sunday morning!
