DRAG QUEEN BINGO!
SHARE OUR FLYER, TOO!

Tonight we're playing Legendary Bingo at Hamburger Mary's in West Hollywood!

We need more bingo players, so whether or not you can go, please share our Oct. 4th Bingo event on Facebook by tagging and inviting your friends!

Please also click the image below for a flyer in .PDF format, and forward it to anyone you know who may be interested in going to our Legendary Bingo Night. You can also print out the flyer and post it wherever many people are likely to see it, perhaps with a note that you are going and inviting others to join you.

84 MORE READERS NEEDED
FOR OCT. 14TH CLUBS

Our October reading clubs are traditionally our largest of the year, so we'll need your help to recruit 84 more volunteers over the next few weeks!

We are also in need of volunteers to be Grade Level Coordinators, Training Coordinators, Check-in Helpers, and Food Runners. Please e-mail info@readingtokids.org if you'd like to step into any of these important roles.

If you haven't already, please join our October 14th Facebook Event. It really helps us when you do because your friends can see you're attending the reading clubs. Help us spread the word by inviting them to join! After you join, don't forget to go to our website and sign up with us.

It would also be a huge help if you printed out this flyer and posted it at your work or favorite community bulletin board. Please also use our convenient email template (in PDF) to recruit volunteers! You are our super recruiters who make great reading clubs happen!

October means magicians will be performing for the kids and volunteers! If you or someone you know possesses the powers of magic and illusion, please email us at info@readingtokids.org as we are still looking for a back-up magician.

At these October reading clubs, feel free to also wear fun, school-appropriate Halloween costumes, too!

CROSSWORDS LA TOURNAMENT
NEEDS YOUR HELP SAT., OCT. 21

Crosswords LA

It's back! Crossword puzzle lovers from everywhere will be converging at the Crosswords LA tournament on Saturday, October 21 – with proceeds benefiting Reading to Kids!

This year the tournament will be held on the University of Southern California campus in the Lower Level (LL) of Fertitta Hall (JFF) (see their directions page for details) – and Crosswords LA needs our volunteers to help! They need a dozen volunteers to set up portions of the event, greet and sign in contestants, and collect puzzle papers. It's a lot of fun volunteering with them!

This tournament raises money for Reading to Kids, so if you can volunteer with them for either the full day or a half day, please reply to this email. Full day volunteers (8:30am – 4:45pm) get a free lunch! Let's show our volunteer spirit by supporting their efforts to help us!

5 MORE MARATHON RUNNERS NEEDED

Do you know any runners? Are you a runner? Please forward this email to them and ask them to join Team Reading to Kids in next year's 2018 Skechers Performance Los Angeles Marathon on Sunday, March 18th!

We're looking for five more full marathon runners and two Stadium vs. The Sea Charity Challenge runners (approx. 13 mile course) to join us in one of the best marathons in the country. You can share this Facebook group with any of your runner friends to encourage them to join our team!

Runners can run either the full marathon or the Stadium vs. The Sea Charity Challenge, and the dollars raised will go to support our monthly reading clubs.

If you or a runner you know is interested in becoming one of our fundraising runners or creating a fundraising team, please email Chris Martin at marathon@readingtokids.org!

IMPORTANT NOTE: To register to run on behalf of Reading to Kids, you MUST receive from us a special web address to use when registering on the Skechers Performance Los Angeles Marathon website.
