Dear Friends of Reading to Kids,

We've been buying dozens of great books for our "Back to School Fun" reading clubs on September 13th! We still need 300 more volunteers, so please start recruiting as many, friends, co-workers, etc. as you can.

First, please join our September 13th Facebook Event so your friends will see that on your wall. Then go to our website and sign up with us.

Please tweet, post to Facebook, and email your friends, letting them know that we still need more volunteers. Please make sure everyone knows they still have to sign up on our website.

You can also help us by printing out this flyer and posting it at your work, school, church, synagogue, mosque, or favorite community bulletin board. Please also use this easy email template.

With your enthusiasm and support, together we can make 1,200 kids happy on Sept. 13th!

SCHOOL AMBASSADORS WANTED

The school year is back in swing, and over the next 4 weeks we'll have several opportunities to publicize Reading to Kids at our partner schools.   To do that, we need your help as a Reading to Kids Ambassador.

There are three different ways you can help out: Kindergarten Orientations, Teacher Breakfast Deliveries, and Back-to-School-Nights.

We'll supply everything you need, including what to say at the Kindergarten Orientations. Although it's great if you can speak Spanish (even a little), all of our parent materials are bilingual, and there's always someone who can translate for you at the school.

These events set the course for the rest of the year and are a wonderful way to interact with the kids and their parents, as well as to honor the teachers. The more we publicize at the beginning of the school year, the more children and families we'll serve all year.

Please email us at inforeadingtokids.org or call the office at (310) 479-7455 if you want to know more about being an Ambassador and the schedule of events.

OFFICE HELPERS AND INTERNS NEEDED

Looking for a new way to get involved with Reading to Kids? Want to add volunteer office help to your resume? We currently are looking for a few good interns and volunteers to help us in the office on weekdays on a regular basis.

There are tons of things that need to be done in the office for every reading club, as well as general office work. If you or someone you trust is interested and available during weekdays, please email us at inforeadingtokids.org or call the office at (310) 479-7455.

LOOKING FOR MAGICIANS

If you or someone you know possesses the powers of magic and illusion, please contact us. We are looking for magicians to perform at each of our seven schools at our October 11th reading clubs!

Thanks, and please encourage all your friends to volunteer with us!

Sincerely,

Charlie Orchard and Hannah Edwards
