Dear Friends of Reading to Kids,

August starts tomorrow, and on August 9th we'll celebrate a morning of "Arts and Entertainment" at our reading clubs!

We'll have movie posters and other movie-related prizes to give away to each kid, as well as a refurbished computer to give to one lucky kid at each school!

All volunteer spots are currently full, but please check back on our website for openings due to cancellations.

If you are signed up but know you can't join us, please cancel so that someone else may take your place.

SCHOOL AMBASSADORS NEEDED

With the beginning of the 2014-15 school year next month, from now through Sept. 19th we'll have more than a dozen opportunities to publicize Reading to Kids at our partner schools.   To do that, we need your help as a Reading to Kids Ambassador.

There are three different ways you can help out: Kindergarten Orientations, Teacher Breakfast Deliveries, and Back-to-School-Nights.

We'll supply everything you need, including what to say at the Kindergarten Orientations. Although it's great if you can speak Spanish (even a little), all of our parent materials are bilingual, and there's always someone who can translate for you at the school.

These events set the course for the rest of the year and are a wonderful way to interact with the kids and their parents, as well as to honor the teachers. The more we publicize at the beginning of the school year, the more children and families we'll serve all year.

Please email us at inforeadingtokids.org or call the office at (310) 479-7455 if you want to know more about being an Ambassador and the schedule of events.
