Weekly Update
October 22, 2008

Dear Friends of Reading to Kids,

Join Reading to Kids for our "College Spirit Day" reading clubs on Saturday, November 8th.  Click here to sign up.

Show your college spirit at the November reading clubs.  Wear your school colors, show your pride, and celebrate higher education!  The school represented by the most volunteers will be crowned the grand champion of the 2008 Reading to Kids college face-off and earn bragging rights for the year!  But most importantly, the kids will see the volunteers' school pride and the value of a college education.

For most of the kids who attend the reading clubs, if they go to college, they will be the first in their families to do so. Exposure to college students and alumni is a great way to get kids thinking about their academic futures, so show your school pride and make a positive impact that will last a lifetime!  Click here to sign up.

BE PART OF OUR STORY -
MAKE A DONATION TODAY

Thanks to your support, we have raised over $21,000 from 273 donors.  With only a couple weeks to go in our 2008 Annual Fund Drive, we are 327 donors shy of our goal of 600!  The number of donors helps us demonstrate community support for Reading to Kids, and helps us solicit corporate and foundation grants.

Please consider joining your fellow volunteers in making a donation to Reading to Kids.  And remember that no donation is too small to make a difference!

Just $5 can provide 4 books for kids to take home at the reading clubs, $50 can provide four hardcover read aloud books donated to our partner schools' libraries, and $500 can cover the cost of one year's worth of books for parents at one school.

For more information, please visit our Annual Fund Drive page at http://readingtokids.org/News/2008AnnualFundDrive.html or contact Jessica Tritsch at Jessica.Tritsch@readingtokids.org.
