Weekly News Update

Dear Friends of Reading to Kids,

Thanks to everyone who attended The Reading to Kids Third Annual Comedy Night and Silent Auction this Tuesday!  With a packed room at the Improv and a great lineup of comedians and silent auction items, we raised nearly $7,500 to support our reading clubs.

A special thanks goes out to all of the comics who donated their time and talent to support Reading to Kids:

Sarah Silverman
(better known to Reading to Kids fans as the sister of Gratts volunteer Laura Silverman)

Maz Jobrani

Henry Phillips

Tig Notaro

Todd Glass

Ali Bubba, The Texas Turk

and our host,
Meredith Myers

Additional thanks go out to all of our Comedy Night volunteers and Reading to Kids interns Rebeka Smith and Jason Hashimoto -- all of whom dedicated many hours to making the event a success.

Thanks again, and we hope to see you all next year!

Join Reading to Kids volunteers at BIG SUNDAY, L.A.'s Annual Day of Service.  Volunteers from all over Los Angeles will help out at more than 200 community sites all over the city on Saturday, April 28th, and Sunday, April 29th.

Magnolia Elementary will be one of the sites for this service event, and a group of Reading to Kids volunteers will be joining in the fun!  That site is now full, but click here to see the list of other events.

We are also expecting that White Elementary School will be hosting a BIG SUNDAY service event, but details are not yet available.  We'll send you more information as it comes in.
