Dear Friends of Reading to Kids,
Reading to Kids is excited to announce that White Elementary will be hosting its first reading clubs on April 14th! Help inspire students at White with a love of reading by signing up to volunteer for this momentous occasion! Click here to sign up. Additionally, we are looking for Site Coordinators, a Training Coordinator, GLCs, and experienced volunteers to start at White. If you are interested in getting more involved or getting more information, please contact Sarah Kolterman at Sarah.Kolterman@readingtokids.org.
Some of you may be wondering what happened to Tenth Street Elementary. They originally planned to host their first reading clubs this spring, but have postponed until later this year. We will keep you posted!
APRIL 14TH "ENVIRONMENT" READING CLUBS
The theme for the April Reading Clubs is "Environment." Our earth friendly book selections include:
- A Frog in the Bog by Karma Wilson (1st grade). As frog snacks on his fellow swamp creatures, what will happen when he encounters the hungry gator?
- Bringing Rain to the Kapiti Plain by Verna Aardema (3rd grade). A perfect read-aloud book filled with colorful illustrations and rhyming repetition entices the children to follow along to find out how the Ki-pat saved his land from the drought.

SECOND ANNUAL MBA MASTERS GOLF CLASSIC TO BENEFIT READING TO KIDS
The 2nd annual Southern California MBA Masters Golf Classic will be held on June 2, 2007 at the Lost Canyons Golf Course. Thanks to Esperanza volunteer and golf tournament co-coordinator Clara Chun, co-coordinator Ted Cordova, and the event's leadership team, proceeds from the tournament will benefit Reading to Kids!
Reading to Kids volunteers are welcome to join MBA alumni from all over Southern California and their guests for the golf tournament. Fun prizes for holes-in-one, closest-to-the-pin, long-drive contest and a raffle will give everyone a chance at going away a winner. Of course, one business school alumni association will be crowned "Champion!" Last year's winner was Harvard Business School.
Not a golfer? You are invited to join us for food and drinks at the end of the round. Register for the cocktail party and dinner starting at 5pm for only $35.
