It is not too late to sign up for L.A. Works Day!

L.A. Works Day 2006 will be an exhilarating day of community service. The Reading to Kids group has tentatively been assigned to work at the Celerity Nascent Charter School. Tasks would include:
- Painting wainscoting throughout campus
- Painting outside walls in playground
- Painting U.S. map on playground
- Painting bike path and basketball lines
- Hanging green screen in playground

JUNE READING CLUBS!
We are seeking volunteers for next Saturday at the June 10th Reading Clubs. If you can join us, please click here to submit your RSVP! We encourage you to join us at Hoover, which is hosting its debut reading clubs this month!
The June Reading Clubs will feature a "Celebrations" theme. Click here to see this month's booklist. Discussion questions and craft ideas will be posted soon!
As some of you may have noticed from our website, the June and July reading clubs at Noble Elementary School have been cancelled due to construction. If you were planning to attend the Noble reading clubs, we hope you can join us at another school. We will have more information about the Noble reading clubs in future update e-mails.
R2K COMEDY NIGHT
Thanks to everyone who attended R2K's Second Annual Comedy Night and Silent Auction last Wednesday! This evening of fun helped to raise nearly $2,500 to support our reading clubs.
Additional thanks go out to Comedy Night volunteers Ali Oktay, Ali Husain, Genane Maalouf, Joanna Hess, McKenzie Kaiser, Anne Dela Cruz, JoseAntonio Danner, and summer intern, Melarie Wheat -- all of whom dedicated many hours to making the event a success.
