Weekly News Update!
August 12, 2004

Howdy all!

The August 14th Reading Clubs are this weekend, and there's still plenty of room for volunteers, especially at Noble. Please click here to RSVP!

And, don't forget to buy your 2004 Reading to Kids t-shirt! The shirts are $7.00 each and will be available at the Reading Clubs.

Diversity in Business Article

Reading to Kids' own Matthew Jones, our Taskforce PR Committee Chair and Community Outreach Committee Co-Chair, is also a journalist for Diversity in Business, a monthly magazine dedicated to spotlighting positive efforts to enhance opportunities for emerging communities in business.

Matthew wrote a wonderful feature article about Reading to Kids for this month's edition, which can be accessed by clicking here.

Thanks, Matthew, for this great piece!

Two Theater Fundraising Events!

This weekend's fun doesn't end on Saturday morning! Join Reading to Kids volunteers on Saturday afternoon and/or evening for two great fundraising theater events at the Stella Adler Theater (6773 Hollywood Boulevard). The tickets for each event are $12. For each ticket sold at both shows, $1.00 will be donated to Reading to Kids!

Come see "The Four Postmen: What the Hell Happened?" at 8:00 p.m. and/or "The Good Year," a new comedy from playwright/director Stefan Marks (also a member of The Four Postmen), at 3:00 p.m. For more information about both events, please click here!

You can access the LA Weekly review of "The Four Postmen: What the Hell Happened?" by clicking here and access the review of "The Good Year" -- a "recommended" play, by clicking here. Hope to see you on Saturday!

Best wishes,
