April Reading Clubs
Our April Clubs are coming up pretty fast (mark your calendars: they're going
to be on April 10th!), so be sure to
click here to
sign up for your favorite school. Unless you're locked inside scrambling
to finish your taxes, why not join scores of happy kids and cheerful volunteers
for a fun and energizing morning?
Reading to Kids Turns Five!
Save the Date -- May 26th! Reading to Kids is celebrating its 5th Anniversary in May! This is a
momentous milestone for our grassroots group: we were founded by just a
handful of volunteers (8!) reading to 20 kids at Gratts Elementary five years
ago in May 1999, and now involve about 250 volunteers and 650 kids each month at
four schools!
We'll be holding the 5th Birthday Bash on May 26th at our favorite place,
El Cholo Restaurant, from 7:00-10:00 p.m. -- mark your calendars!
More information on ticket prices will come soon, but prepare for ticket
sales at the April and May Reading Clubs!
Baja Fresh Fundraiser
Save the Date -- April 28th! At the suggestion of Natalie Liberatore, one of Reading to Kids' devoted
volunteer interns, and of Jeffrey Carter, our hardworking Social Committee
Chair, Reading to Kids will be hosting a fundraiser at Baja Fresh on
April 28th!
From 2:00-10:00 p.m., Reading to Kids will be receiving
15% of all sales at the Westwood restaurant.
Our volunteers need only bring a flier (we'll have those for you to download
soon!) and come on over for dinner.
More information will come soon, but plan on yummy grub and successful
fundraising!
