The Year in Review
STUDENTS and VOLUNTEERS:
We expanded to three schools this year, and we averaged a total of 400
students and 165 volunteers per month.
NEW VOLUNTEERS:
During 2002 we received 1,200 new volunteer applications, and 750 of
those people volunteered with us at least once this year.
E-MAIL LIST:
In the last year the number of subscribers to our e-mail list has grown
to 1,065.
LIBRARY BOOKS:
We donated over 900 new hardcover books to the three elementary school
libraries.
PRIZE BOOKS:
We gave over 5,000 prize books to the students who attended the reading
clubs.
VOLUNTEER HOURS:
This year our volunteers spent over 6,000 hours at the reading clubs (3
hours per volunteer per session attended).
We also want to extend a warm thank you to all of our donors in the year
2002 and to all of our Friends and Supporters.

Most importantly, we want to thank the schools, the teachers, and the
parents of the children who attend, because without their support, we
wouldn't be able to turn their schools into reading clubs on the second
Saturday of each month.
Thanks again, and we wish you a safe, healthy, and happy new year.
