October Reading Clubs Were a Howling Success!
The October reading clubs were a huge success, with over 180 volunteers
reading Halloween-themed books to 550 children. In addition, reading clubs were
held at Esperanza Elementary School, marking the first time that
Reading to Kids has run the clubs
at three schools simultaneously. Thanks to the teachers, staff, and
operations coordinators who supported the effort!

complete list of volunteer participants.
In addition, for the second month in a row,
Reading to Kids volunteers
gathered for a post-reading club lunch at the lounge
of the El Cholo Restaurant. Please click
here for more details, and please join us there at the conclusion
of the next reading clubs!
Thanks Pacific Life Foundation!
We learned this week that we will receive a 2003
Pacific Life
Foundation grant of $5,000! They gave us a $5,000 2002 grant, and we
are delighted to partner with them again to continue to bring the joy of
reading to the kids we serve.
