Reading Clubs Will Expand to Esperanza Elementary School in October
We recently met with the principal of Esperanza Elementary School and
confirmed that we will be bringing the reading clubs there this October!
The administration and teachers are very excited about the program.
After the September reading clubs, the website will be updated so that
you will be able to RSVP to Esperanza. Esperanza is in the same area as
Gratts and Magnolia, near the intersection of 7th and Alvarado.
On a side note, Esperanza is looking for some new office chairs. If
you know of a business that is getting rid of furniture, please contact
our office at info@readingtokids.org.
Fall Internship
We have received a few responses to our call for interns, but we are
still looking for many more. Reading to Kids
interns have played a vital role in improving our organization over
the last year. If you know any college students who are interested
in learning about nonprofit management, please have them e-mail a
cover letter and a resume to
Grant Update
This week we submitted an application to the Dwight Stuart Youth
Foundation. We currently have 19 outstanding grant applications and we
have recently added many more foundations to our to do list. If you are
interested in helping out with grant writing, please contact us by e-mail
at info@readingtokids.org.
Reading to Kids Taskforce
We have recently added three new members to the Reading to Kids
Taskforce (our 40+ team of volunteers who assist with operations, public
