GREG BEHRENDT AND FRIENDS ON STAGE TO CELEBRATE 10 YEARS OF READING TO KIDS

Anniversary celebration features a silent auction and diverse comedic lineup

LOS ANGELES – Greg Behrendt, co-author of the bestseller "He's Just Not That Into You," and Iliza Shlesinger, winner of NBC's 2008 "Last Comic Standing" joined Shang, Bob Oschack, and Mike Phirman at Hollywood’s Ricardo Montalbán Theatre on Saturday, May 9th, to celebrate Reading to Kids' Tenth Anniversary.  Coming off of “Greg Behrendt’s Totally Into You Comedy Tour,” Behrendt was excited to get on stage in support of a good cause.

“I am honored to participate in the Reading to Kids ten year anniversary celebration." said Behrendt.  “What Reading to Kids does to make reading more exciting for kids is outstanding.  I wouldn’t be here today if I hadn’t developed a deep love for reading at a very early age.”

The night kicked off with a silent auction featuring a variety of enticing items, including Virgin America airline tickets, Disneyland passes, a weekend at a Big Bear Cabin, and a year of DirectTV.  Proceeds from the event support Reading to Kids, a grassroots organization dedicated to inspiring children with a love of reading through its monthly reading clubs. Reading to Kids brings together a diverse group of volunteers from across Los Angeles to read to local elementary school children on the second Saturday of every month.  For more information on Reading to Kids, please visit www.readingtokids.org.

“We are thrilled to have Greg be a part of our tenth anniversary celebration, and we appreciate that he’s able to take the time to support the program and honor our work with the kids,” said Jessica Tritsch, Program Director of Reading to Kids.  “This was a terrific night!”
