Reading to Kids Fifth Birthday Bash!

On Wednesday, May 26th, Reading to Kids will be celebrating five wonderful years of Monthly Reading Clubs.  From the first reading club with eight volunteers reading to 20 kids at Gratts Elementary School, Reading to Kids is now a vibrant grassroots network of thousands of active community members working to inspire an average of 600 children per month with a love of reading!

Please help us commemorate a landmark anniversary for this wonderful community organization!

Date:  Wednesday, May 26, 2004 
Time:  7:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. (buffet dinner starts at 8:00) 
Location:  El Cholo Restaurant, of course!

Tickets: $20.00 in advance, $25.00 at door.
Each ticket includes buffet dinner, entertainment, and one raffle ticket.
Additional raffle tickets are available for $5.00 each, or 5 for $20.
Entertainment will include a full program featuring two Magic Castle magicians, Rich Cowley and Raul Fernandez!
The raffle will include Disneyland and Universal Studios passes, memberships to LACMA and The Huntington, and more!
Details: Full buffet dinner of house specialties (with vegetarian options available) – yes, we will have green corn tamales!
Non-alcoholic beverages included; cash bar. Dessert will be served!

Tickets may be purchased in advance by ordering online on this page. If you would prefer to send payment by mail, please click here to download a ticket order form to be mailed, with payment, to the Reading to Kids office at 1600 Sawtelle Boulevard, Suite 210, Los Angeles, California, 90025.

Since inception…

Reading to Kids volunteers have handed 21,000 paperback books to young readers for their home libraries!

…Esperanza, Gratts, Magnolia, and Noble Elementary Schools have received over 3,600 hardcover books to enrich their libraries!

Reading to Kids has involved about 3,500 individual volunteers!

Reading to Kids has offered 138 fun, festive, and educational events in underserved neighborhoods!
