Imaginations Come Alive at September Reading Clubs!
September's reading club theme of "Imagination/Fantasy" helped the
children of Gratts Elementary and Esperanza Elementary to unleash their
creative minds! Well over 300 children were treated to stories involving a
myriad of new worlds. The books in the September reading clubs told tales
ranging from a rain forest coming to life to a mouse who saves his family.
Over 100 volunteers were joined by teachers and administrators in reading
stories of the imagination. Special arts and crafts projects allowed the
children to show their creativity and utilized the themes in the books read.
The day culminated in each of the children being presented with a book of
their very own for attending and with a donation of all the books read during
the day to the individual elementary schools.
What lies ahead in October? An exciting Halloween theme!!!
