Family Literacy Advocates of Southern California

Reading to Kids thanks the Family Literacy Advocates of Southern California for financially supporting our program.

"The mission of Family Literacy Advocates of Southern California (FLASC) is to reverse the tide of under-education and poverty in the community by providing families with the opportunity to learn and grow together."

"Our family literacy program improves literacy across two generations and implements four essential components: 1) Adult Education, 2) A Literacy Based Program for Children, 3) Parent Education and 4) "PACT" Parent and Child Together time. Our after-school/evening program allows parents and children (2 to 16 years of age) to pursue their educational goals and learn together on the same campus."

"Our main focus is to support and encourage the academic success of children while simultaneously educating and improving economic opportunities and job skills of their parents."
