Reading to Kids
thanks the members of the Howard University Alumni Association who volunteer at our reading clubs.
"The Howard University Alumni Club (HUAC) of Greater Los Angeles seeks to keep Alumni connected through social, informative and fundraising activities that will benefit Alumni and the University through individual and collective support. The local club maintains ways and means to provide scholarships through the“Grace H. Robinson Memorial Scholarship Fund” for qualified Los Angeles area students who attend Howard, to publicly acknowledge the achievements of local Alumni, and to raise the community’s awareness of Howard University’s contributions and leadership in America and the Global Community. Howard University Alumni Club (HUAC) of Greater Los Angeles is a constituent unit of HUAA (hereinafter “the Association”). The Association is formed by the Board of Trustees under the charter of the University, a tax-exempt entity under Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3).
Our Alumni Club:
Raises and Grants Scholarships to qualifying Los Angeles area students who attend Howard University.
Engages in educational events (ie: College Fairs) within the county of Los Angeles promoting Howard University as the institution of academic excellence.
Conducts information sessions for first time students and parents attending Howard University.
Participates in Community Outreach programs and maintains the University’s presence in the Los Angeles area.
