Author: Audrey Wood
Illustrator:
Date of Publication:
ISBN:
Grade Level: 1st
Date(s) Used: Mar. 2001, Mar. 2002

Synopsis: In rhyming verse, Wood tells of Silly Sally, who goes to town, walking backwards, upside down. Along her way she meets many animals who join her in dancing, leaping, singing, and sleeping.

Craft ideas:

  • Assign parts and make simple costumes, and re-enact the story.
  • Make a Silly Sally Button. Use one piece of construction paper in some shape as the background. Cut out a Sally shape from another piece of paper, and affix the Sally to the background in the center with string, a paperclip, or some other clip to allow Sally to spin around.
