Synopsis: The famous inventor Dr. Smart Pig, a lonesome survivor of the Big Bad Wolf, wants an inedible porcine companion with whom to spend Halloween. After mistakenly producing a pig-headed fish and curly-tailed bat, he creates a gigantic, voracious pink hog.

Craft ideas:

  • Create your own "porkenstein," and make a brochure advertising him. Draw and explain what it is, what it does, what it eats, where it sleeps, etc.
  • What characteristics do you look for in a friend? Make a card with the "scientific formula" for good friends.

*Note: These craft ideas are just suggestions. You can use them, but you don’t have to use them. You can expand upon them, or add your own twist. Remember, though, that the focus of your time should not be on the development and execution of a craft; the focus should be on the read-aloud and the enjoyment of the book!
