Synopsis: In a tribute to her great-aunt Arizona, a teacher for fifty-seven years, the author recalls Arizona's exuberant lifestyle and the zest for learning that she instilled in generations of her students.

Craft ideas:

  • Make a button (large piece of construction paper in some shape) with a collage of what it means to be a teacher, what you like about teachers, who your favorite teacher is, what you learned from her/him.
  • If the story had taken place this year, what other professions besides teacher could Arizona have become? What did her students become? Draw and write that story.
