Craft ideas:

  • At the end of the book, the author tells us about legends being told by pictographs drawn on deer skins. Take a strip of paper and draw your own story using your own pictographs.
  • What was the next adventure of Mexicatl and his people? Write it and illustrate.
  • Make a feather headband and illustrate it from scenes from the book.
