Synopsis: Duck and his friends are at it again. This time they're pooling their considerable resources to win a local talent show, because first prize is a TRAMPOLINE. The cows want to sing. The sheep want to sing. The pigs want to...dance. Dance? And Duck? Duck just wants to win that trampoline.

•  What are the animals doing on the cover?
•  Have you ever seen a cow in person?
•  What animals do you think would live on a farm?

•  interpretive dance - a dance that expresses and idea or emotion.
•  disguise - to hide your identity.
•  rehearsed - to practice.
•  footnote with asterisk* - notes at the bottom of the page.
•  impressed - to strongly influence a feeling or idea upon someone.
•  annoyed - to be bothered.
•  standing ovation - When an audience stands up and claps.

Discussion topics for during/after reading:
•  Have you ever been to a county fair?
•  Have you ever seen or entered a talent show?
•  How did the farmer disguise himself? Do you think the disguise worked?
•  Who won the talent show? Who do you think was the best in the talent show?

Craft ideas:
•  Make a peek-a-boo barn (see sample)
•  Draw a farm with your favorite farm animals.
•  Draw or cut out your favorite farm animal.

Special activities:
•  Sing some of the songs mentioned in the book or another song.
