Synopsis: It's December 24th, and the old farmer settles down for a winter's nap, wondering how Christmas can come when there is no snow! It is in his dream that he imagines a snowstorm coming and covering him and his animals--named One, Two, Three, Four and Five--in a snowy blanket.

Discussion topics: To be posted soon ...

Craft ideas:
•  Make ornaments for a tree like the ones in the book. Make a tree for the ornaments, too, perhaps in an assembly line fashion.
•  What would you name the animals? Draw them in their stalls with the names.
•  Pick one or more of the animals, and make a construction paper pieces cutout like the ones in the book, complete with snow blanket.

*Note: These craft ideas are just suggestions. You can use them, but you don't have to use them. You can expand upon them, or add your own twist. Remember, though, that the focus of your time should not be on the development and execution of a craft; the focus should be on the read-aloud and the enjoyment of the book!
